A while back, I shared with you my first Jeep, a 1994 YJ.  I had to sell it to make room for a minivan when our daughter was born.

A year or so later, I got back into off-roading and purchased a well-worn 1993 Grand Cherokee ZJ.  A buddy of mine had been driving it for a while.  One day I noticed he was driving a newer vehicle.  When asked about the ZJ, I found out he planned to haul it away for scrap, since it had 295,000 miles on it!

Well, after some negotiations, I hauled it to my house for only $175!  After installing a $94 fuel pump I got off Ebay, I had it running pretty good again.  It had the 5.2L V8, auto, and full-time 4WD.  I installed a cheap 4.5" lift, and made some of the components myself.  I purchased some used 33" Super Swampers, and I had a pretty decent trail rig for under $1500.

Here's a cool shot of me at D-Day:

After desiring a rig that I could use both on and off the road, I sold the ZJ and my truck and purchased my current Jeep TJ.

I do miss having the V8 under the hood though!!

Is the ZJ still around?  Just curious?

I sold it to a guy here in Granby.  My friends have seen it running around at D-Day, but I haven't seen it since.
