Got some more information on this event.  Apparently there will be two courses set up in Fayetteville during Bikes, Blues, and BBQ.

One will be for folks to test drive new Jeeps, and the second a playground for current Jeep owners.

They recommend pre-registration on the Jeep Rocks and Road Tour website, though it's not clear if this is only for Test Driving new Jeeps or for the playground.  I think the former.

Jeeps Rocks and Road Tour (Baum Stadium Parking Lot)

We're planning on leaving Bentonville around 9:30 to go down and take a look.

OK, I actually got an email from someone at Jeep that saw this posted on our Upcoming Events page!  She said they don't allow information tables at this time.  I asked if you have to register for the Owners Playground; her response

"You do have to register for the Owner's Playground, but you can do that on-site. You can run it as many times as you would like. Many owner's hang out there for quite some time. The event is also family friendly with kids mini-Jeeps, climbing wall, photo opportunities and more. "

Ok, I wanted to get this to everyone to see if we can make this happen. As some of you know the Jeep Rocks in Road Tour in in Fayetteville this weekend. They have a big display setup in the parking lotjust east of Baum Stadium in Fayetteville on Razorback road just north of the 15th street intersection. I went by today to check things out. They have a nice display on their new vehicles and a test drive obstacle course if you want to test drive a new Jeep vehicle. They also have a cool storm chaser built Jeep Liberty, a rock climbing wall, one of the new Jeep offroad campers on display, and other stuff in the main display area. Then for the owners of jeeps they have a small offroad obstacle course setup just south of the main location off Razorback road on a large lot just off Razorback.

I went down and talked to the guy at the owners playground and he said we could park some of our rigs just off Razorback Rd at the entrance to the owners obstacle course. Now the question is who would be interested in hanging out there Friday night and/or Saturday? Maybe we could get enough to take shifts and have several rigs there Friday night and Saturday. We could hand out cards and maybe have a slideshow on my laptop to show some of the trails we run.

If you are interested please reply and let me know what time you might be able to get up there and for how long. If we have enought interest I'll let you know.

I think I just tried to put this together too late, just didn't know any details until they actually setup on Thursday.  I really don't think we would be that effective with only one or two vehicles.  What do you think.   The guy running the owners course thought if we could get four or five rigs up by the road it would help him out as well?  Also he thought he could get the Chrysler guys down from the other display to take a few pictures if we had a good group of rigs there.  I don't mind going up Saturday afternoon, although Dixie just informed me that Jordan's soccer game is a 12:00 not 10:30 so it would be 2:00 before I could get there and if we can't get more rigs I say we don't bother.

Hey guys, had a great time down at BBB and the Jeep Rocks and Road Tour.  Got to drive the 2011 Wrangler 4 door Rubicon on the Jeep track.  The course wasn't too bad, the big Jeep hill was kind of cool, 30 degrees, and they had several neat display vehicles, got pictures of all and will post up.  Had a pretty good turnout for the club as well.  Rick, Jimmy, Shane and family, Branson and family, Randy, Mike and Mike, potential member in a nice 2 door wrangler.  Also handed out several cards and met some nice folks.  Rodney and his wife from Ozarks Jeep Thing club in Springfield drove down for the event and invited us all to join them at SMOOR anytime.   Also, they told us about a neat wheeling place called Glade Top that is supposed to be really beautiful in the fall and a great place for Trail riding without fear of vehicular damage.  Might be a great place to take a group of new Jeepers.  Also met a real nice kid from Moab who was sharing a lot of great trail stories and offered to show us around if any of us wander out that way!!  And of course, there were thousands of awesome motorcycles cruising around.  Not a bad day at all!
