I am thinking about changing the gears on my 1991 YJ from 3.07 to 3.73 and maybe adding a locker. The YJ is my daily driver. If anyone has what I need setting around not being used let me know.

Wish I did, just have JK diff parts sitting around in my garage, no YJ stuff.  Good luck, I just changed mine from the 4.10s to 4.88s and can tell a huge difference.

You want to get rid of the 4.10's?

What transmission do you have and what tire size are you running.  You may want to think about 4.10's.  As far as lockers go if it is a dana 30 in the front go with an aussie or lockright.  If the back is a 35 I might just leave it open.  I put a limited slip in mine it went boom in the rocks.

Take a look at this website and play with gear ratios.

Here is a site for the aussie locker.

Aussie will work with any gear set because it goes in the carrier in place of spider gears.  You will need a new carrier going from 3.07 to 3.73.  There is a carrier break in a dana at 3.55 and down then 3.73 and up.

I have a set of 4.10s I would be interested in parting with. I bought a Spartan front locker and it works great. If you have some Yj parts I may be willing to do some trading out.

For now I think that I will just go with a aussie or lockright in the Dana 30.  I can order on through work for about $225.00. The YJ has a I 6 that has been bored with a AX15. I am running 31 inch tires. I just had to have the tc worked on. I messed it up after driving it home in front wheel drive after I broke the rear driveshaft up in Mark Twain. I had to replace the shift fork.
