Oh yeah the brown Santa showed up last night after I left for work and dropped off my new Light Racing dimple dies.  Now just got to get the press this weekend and get back and try them out.  Also give me a shout if you need something made with them.

so I'm pretty familiar with metal working.... but what do you do with a "dimple die"?  I thinking it's something that I've heard called a different name.

you hole saw out a hole, then put the piece in a press w/ these dies and it bends the edges of the hole.  Adds lots of strength and looks good.

Oh yeah.  I know what you're talking about.  It does look good. I've seen it on a lot of skid plates.

Well got the press and also got a 12" disc sander.  The Press is beef compared to the Harbor Freight 20 ton, makes me glad everytime I went to get the HF that they were out.  I'll get it together tomorrow and do a sample piece to post up.   Stan you were right a guy could spend all day in there, I think I looked around for 1 1/2 hrs. before I decided I better get out before I broke out my axle money. :)

Well got everything together today and did a few dimple dies in some 1/8" metal,  The smaller dimple dies don't really do anything with the 1/8" plate but the  2 1/2" one did.  Got to buy some more hole saws seems like everyone I had was an 1/8" to big or to small.  Also got to mess with the disc sander and I forsee this thing getting a lot of use.  Here are some pics of the press, sander, and some dimple die holes.

Oh yeah they definetly add strength.  I plan on make my new battery box and couple other brackets under the hood out of 16 guage which wouldn't be possible without the dimple dies.  Also got an old friend coming by Thursday wanting a rack on his Jeep and I am already thinking about making the bottom out of 16 guage with plenty of dimple dies in it.
