Ok, I got the snorkel installed today. Here are a few pics of the process. First I had to remove the passenger side front fender.

Here's the only cut I had to make. It is at the top of the fender on the bend. I had to remove a strip about 1" x 7"

Here is where the tube attaches to the bottom of the air box. It comes with a new shorter bottom to the air box. I wasn't that impressed with the quality of this box. Should have got a picture. Sorry.

Here is where the fender tube assembly attaches at the back of the wheel well.

Here is how it sets behind the fender

Another view of how it attaches.

And here it is with the stubby intake

And with the extension

Now I need to get a stubby antenna and I'll be set,  at least for this project!

I think you should mount a camera in there and use it as a periscope!!  It looks really cool.

So, you've had it for about a year now - any specific likes/dislikes with it so far? Did you put in a K&N or use the RR reusable filter? I like the setup, even though it doesn't really add any performance but read on another forum someone gained a MPG or 2 on a long road trip with the Hi snorkel (guessing from the ram air effect?)

This install comes with a new bottom half for the stock airbox and retained the stock top so it uses the stock air filter.

Yeah, been reading about the kit. There are K&N's and other brands that make replacement type filter that fit our factory box. the RR one isn't oiled like a K&N yet is washable. I'll take it you have no regrets with it.

I was thinking of CAI, but i'm terrified of hydrolocking my engine (the stream crossing at Byrds comes to mind), which got me looking at snorkels. This is the least body modification kit  i've found, why I'm considering it.

River Raider makes one as well that doesn't require a lot of cutting, but if you ever want to go to dual batteries under the hood the River Raider would not allow that.  I really like the Rugged Ridge one I have, especially for those that don't want to run a snorkel all the time because you can remove the snorkel and just install the cap and you don't have to worry about getting the snorkel ripped off while rock crawling.
